First Waters, private swim coaching
ProgramsFirst Waters
01 · Ages 3–6

Comfort first. Technique later.

The program

The first months in a pool shape a swimmer for life. First Waters is a patient, playful start. Floats, breath control, going under, and getting independent. Kids move at their own pace. Parents watch a child get visibly calmer week to week.

What we work on
  • Water comfort and face-in-water play
  • Independent front and back floats
  • Rhythmic breathing without panic
  • Kick with a board, then without
  • First unassisted glides
Good fit for
  • First-time swimmers, any level of comfort
  • Kids who tried group lessons and it didn't stick
  • Kids who love the water but need real technique
Frequency and lesson length are set on the call. We work around your schedule.

Common questions

Things people ask about First Waters.

  • What age is best to start swim lessons?

Any time from about 3 years old, once the child can follow simple instructions. Some kids start earlier, some later. We meet them where they are.

  • My child is afraid of the water. Is this still a fit?

Yes. First Waters is built for that exact case. We never force submersion. The first few lessons often just build trust before anything technical.

  • Should a parent be in the water?

Not required. Parents are welcome to stay poolside or step back. Most kids focus better when a parent is present but not in the water.

  • What should my kid wear or bring?

A swimsuit that stays on when they push off the wall. Goggles help but aren't required at this stage. A towel and dry clothes for after.
