Booking a lesson
When you book a lesson through the contact form, by phone, or by email, you agree to these terms. Every lesson booked with Elite Swim Lessons is confirmed by email or text before it takes place.
Payment
- Before the first lesson. We collect payment before the first lesson starts. You will receive a Stripe invoice by email.
- Ongoing lessons. You can continue paying by invoice, or in person by tap-to-pay (Apple Pay, Google Pay, contactless card) or cash.
- Processor. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number.
Full details on the Payments page.
Cancellation and refunds
Because every lesson is private and reserves a specific time on our calendar, we run a 24-hour cancellation window.
- More than 24 hours before your lesson. Full refund, no questions asked. Refunds land back on the original card within a few business days.
- Less than 24 hours before your lesson. The lesson fee is non-refundable.
- Weather. If conditions are genuinely unsafe (thunder, extreme cold), we reschedule at no charge. Weather calls are ours to make and are always in the swimmer's favor.
Rescheduling
- Rescheduling more than 24 hours before your lesson is free. Reply to your confirmation email or text us and we'll find a new slot.
- Inside the 24-hour window, the lesson is treated as taken and the fee is not credited toward a future lesson.
Pool and site requirements
The lesson happens at your pool. You are responsible for ensuring the pool is safe, clean, and legally accessible to us.
- The pool must be at an appropriate temperature for the swimmer.
- Chemical levels should be within normal residential ranges. We reserve the right to end a lesson if we have safety concerns.
- For lessons at HOA, condo, or community pools, you are responsible for confirming outside instructors are permitted and completing any paperwork required by the venue.
- An adult must be present on the property for all lessons involving a minor swimmer.
Safety and assumption of risk
Swimming is an inherently physical activity that carries risk. By booking a lesson, you (and your child, if the swimmer is a minor) acknowledge that risk and agree to follow the coach's instructions during the lesson. Elite Swim Lessons is Red Cross CPR/AED certified and takes reasonable precautions during every session.
Media
We do not photograph or record lessons unless we've explicitly asked and you've said yes. Video for stroke analysis, when used in Competitive Refinement, is discussed and consented to on a per-lesson basis and is deleted after review unless you request a copy.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by California law, Elite Swim Lessons is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising out of the lessons. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll note it on the homepage for a short period.
